Tag Heuer Link is a relatively new collection, but already on its way to become a modern classic. Somewhat similar to the iconic Aquaracer, the Link is a multi-purpose watch: designed as a sports chronograph, its visual and structural qualities catapult it to the high sphere of refined business and formal wear.

Automatic and quartz models without the chronograph functionality take on a more casual sports look, presenting a less formal alternative. The polished steel bezel in these watches grows wider and more akin to Tag Heuer Formula 1 and Aquaracer. Still, both types of Link watches opt for the understated monochrome logo, eliminating unnecessary color from the dial.

Tag Heuer Link Design

The Tag Heuer Link Chronograph features a fixed bezel with a tachymeter scale. This utility essentially renders the watch a racing timer. In the Calibre S Chronograph, instead of the commonly used round subdials, Tag Heuer employs a pair of semi-circles; positioned at the lower border of the dial. This timer counts tenths of one hundredths of a second. Now that is precision timing.

The same half-moon counters show the date when in "time" mode – an ingenious solution that saves space and contributes to an easy to read interface. Both indicators are marked only by their respective painted scales. Clarity and harmony of design, supported by the open area through which a pair of solid hands regally roams, reinforce the impression of elegant maturity.

Tag Heuer Link Bracelet

It's the bracelet that Link watches are most famous for today. A two-row steel band, it consists of uniquely shaped links, each displaying an amalgamation of two "L" letters, or an unusually designed "S". The intricacy of link interlock, and one row mirroring the other, reflects the notion of an unusually powerful, unbreakable grip – an appropriate symbolism for a bracelet. When juxtaposed, the restrained composure of the dial and the fierce strength of the bracelet create a fascinating unit – a watch that Tag Heuer and its customers are unreservedly proud of.

Besides automatic and quartz movements, separate Link watches incorporate more complex and technologically advanced mechanisms. The Calibre S Chronograph contains an electro-mechanical movement of over 200 parts and 5 motors. Its perpetual date function is retrograde – a mode of motion that's particularly difficult to achieve in mechanical watches. The Calibre 36 chronometer opts for a classic propulsion: an officially certified chronometer, tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, combined with a chrono function.

Link watches boast several specifications that boost its multi-purpose sports credentials both on land and in water. While steel cases and bands contribute to overall durability, anti-glare treatment for the sapphire crystal, and luminescent coating for the hands and indexes enhance legibility, making reading time a quick and rewarding task. Water resistance up to 200 meters completes the list, adding another aquatically viable watch to Tag Heuer collection.
