From June 2008 to August 2009 John Stanton, a freelance journalist, author of 19 articles based on 45 sources detailing the trials and tribulations of Human System U.S. Army's Field (HTS). Originally published electronically, these pieces are now available in book form by Wiseman Publishing in the Netherlands.

HTS was supported by General David Petraeus, Commanding General of CENTCOM, and a force powerful in Washington, DC. President Barack Obama has embraced the notion Petraeus' understanding, exploiting and dominating as a Human Terrain element of "soft power" and counterinsurgency. As such, it occupies a central place in U.S. National Security Strategy.

This is a risky proposition based on performance to date HTS. The charges of fraud, sexual abuse, improper recruiting, training and management still plague HTS program. Three civilian deaths, a number of active-duty injuries, homicide (voluntary manslaughter), and a hostile work environment for women are the tip of the iceberg melting.

However, HTS is set to expand its operations in Afghanistan and support The other U.S. combatant commands include strategic command. A new request for proposal from the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command and U.S. General Services AdministrationJuly 2009 shows it was once billed as an open source program will now require HTS personnel in the U.S. to own and Top Secret / Sci cleaning, and field staff will require a permit secret.

HTS is set to become, as from its beginning, more actively in the chain of death-hush.

Human Terrain term was invented in 1960 by the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities, referring to the environment in which civil rights marchers, anti-protesters Vietnam and the Black Panthers did. Human is the same terrain where U.S. law enforcement, military and intelligence community operated against anti-US government efforts.

This is not just a publication that documents problems HTS. Author - with input from staff Current and former military - provides suggestions to improve HTS along with ideas on how to see through Lens human terrain of evolutionary psychology.

Also included in the book is commentary in the U.S., Iran and Russia.
